    iPad Apps

    Hi everyone,

I know there have been a few 'old' topics on a similar subject, but that was a while ago, but that was the past. Outdated, and of course, new things pop up for the better, which is always great. :D

I've always been eager to know...

    <div align="left">

    1. What are your favorite iPad Apps, or ones that you seem to frequently use?.. It can be anything, from being Weather related, to even games.

    and...

    2. When you're on tour, doing sound, or even lighting... What apps do you use? It can be like an RTA type app, or anything related to sound/lighting.

I'm in the mood to find out some new apps that I don't know about, and would most likely end up using them again, and again...Feel free to post, it doesn't have to be directly relating to either questions, so no worries.

    </div>

StudioSix Digital's AudioTools and similar from Faber Acoustics are very useful for me and keep getting better and better.

AudioCalc, LiveToolkit, WaveCalc, PowerCalc, VideoCalc, BeamCalc, Backline Calc are pretty handy.

And a new app that I just stumbled across in my last Smaart Class...''Feedback'' app that potentially offers countless hours of mirth and mayhem at FOH or Monitor positions on your unsuspecting friends and foes!!!!!!

    And of course Angry Birds...addicting!

    Civilization Revolution

I don't have much time in my life for gaming, but most of what I have is spent here. The game has a good balance of being simple and short enough to not take weeks to finish, but has enough depth to retain my interest, unlike most arcade style games.

Civ, Yamaha Stage mix, email, web, and iPod are 98% of what my IPad does.

    My favorites at the moment:

RadarScope - Absolutely the best weather radar app out there. Access to all of the obscure radar products available from each station, and it will animate the latest views to help with storm tracking. Also gives a list of weather alerts and warnings.

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/radar...288419283?mt=8

Keynote - I use it with the optional VGA adaptor to align projectors during load-ins, and as a master source for test images.

    Flipboard - A really well-designed news aggregator.

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flipb...358801284?mt=8

    Penultimate - Freehand writing/drawing app.

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/penul...354098826?mt=8

    Games and toys:

    Words with Friends

Need for Speed Shift (great racing game) http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/need-...363301193?mt=8

iOrgelHD (Well done music box emulator) http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iorge...378451492?mt=8

You mentioned that, and so I searched and discovered that there are bridal calculation apps. Wow! Thank you.

I think Bridal lite might be the one for me. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bridl...389215956?mt=8

    Thanks again.

Note: bridal and bridle are *very* things. Only one of them normally relates to rigging...

Well that game just took up the past 90 minutes while the kids were watching Harry Potter 6. Very nice! Like that there's a free demo to try out. Thanks Tom.

Man: My wife and I are here on our honeymoon. We'd like a suite.

    Hotel clerk: Bridal?

Man: No, I'll just hold on to her ears until she gets used to it.

hmmm, most used apps? Mine are 99% non-gig related, but here goes:

Netflix, Civ Revolution, Angry Birds, Live Music (by Pollstar), Kindle, iBooks, words with friends, Tiger Woods, Stumbleupon.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I seem to use the most

I spent about 8 hours playing Angry Birds the day after christmas.

    It's very dangerous.

I just crossed over to the ''dark side'' yesterday and got an iphone.

I downloaded the Studio Six apps. So far I am very impressed.

I like it a lot better than my Blackberry.
