4 x EAW KF730 rolling carts

Re: 4 x EAW KF730 rolling carts

FWIW, I really like the way Clair packages the I3. 4 high on a dolly, with a 'condom' on top. They're pretty stable in the carts, the condom keeps them from bumping into things and getting beat up, and they're super easy to pin and fly.

At a reasonable pace it takes about 10 seconds for two guys to unlatch and remove the top. It's also nice to remove the tops off stage and roll the 4 cabinets into position without so much clutter. So what did I win? :)

The Clair setup definitely wins the cheap and cheerful award. :)

My cases find constant utility on stage as mover and projector stands and on their sides next to drum risers for pads, mixers, laptops, etc.

They also make nice crowd buffers at FOH and monitor world.

Just to add another example to the field, this is the way we transport our "baby" elements (dB Tech DVA T4's):

Each cart carries 2 sets of up to 5 elements, face to face. To fly, you just attach the bumper and pick up one set, spin the cart and pick up the other set. We designed and fabricated them in house out of 1"x2" square steel stock, then sent them off to be powder coated.

Very true Brandon. :) These folks have allowed us fly the PA from the lighting truss for the last 3 years or so. That's an old picture, but the best I have of one of these cases doing something other than transporting KF730's.

Re: 4 x EAW KF730 rolling carts

The local dry hire company here use a Langston style case to transport Q1s pre rigged and they are bearing up really well though they are quite large and heavy they are still a lot easier to deal with than loose speakers or open dolies, the speakers get the bumper attached then lifted out of the base, it is no prolem to lift the 1st batch up then wheel in the next lot and repeat the process, we tend to do the angles before lifting the cluster with one person each side it's no bother. My only thought on the cases would be to make the lid clamshell so you are not lifting it up over the top of the speaker stack. But I have an old back. lol
