I do switch between two different scenes, but the delay has work great on both before. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I have checked all the routing and everything seems fine so not sure what's going on. Other than this, the console is awesome and our church used to never run delay so its not a huge deal right now. Would love to see this fixed though.
 
XControl Question.

Hello everyone. I have a question in reference to Xcontrol. I am wondering if I can use a midi fader unit with it to control the faders? It would be nice for doing remote control for monitors. Any thoughts?

Did you try a different effect in that slot, and that effect in a different slot?

Fader Jumping problem

Now we have a reply on the fader issue under "Re: Delay not working." :x~:-x~:mad: I wish there was a way to stop people from doing this!

Anyhoo, I too am in the habit of moving both faders even if they are linked, from my analog days. But it seems on the Yamahas that doing that will stop the faders from moving. You feel the resistance and immediately realize what you are doing.

I wonder if , if you had unlinked the two matrix channels, it would have stopped the problem. First thing to try if anyone has this happen to them again.

Does X32 produce uninterrupted audio during a reboot?

I'd really like to know about this, I'm close to getting an X32 for one of my venues, and reliability is my main concern. I can work around all the issues I raised in the Corporate thread.

I'm bumping this post as I never got a reply to it. Has anyone ever rebooted the console during a show, or had it crash during a show, and did the console continue to produce audio in its last state throughout the reboot?

As I've said before, I will have an X32 to play with in a couple of days, and I will be able to answer my own question.

Isn't the right way to deal with this is to have separate threads for each topic? I'm a new kid here, but is there a reason that all X32 discussion seems to happen in this one thread?

I might have to try this tonight and see what happens. I believe I read in the manual that the mains get muted during boot so as to prevent any burps during the boot-up, but was *thinking* it said this was a configuration option.

The reason is simply that this is not a X32 forum, and those not interested in the X32 don't want to see a multitude of threads relating to the X32. If one wants to have separate threads, go to the behringer or the x32user.net forums. However, the level of dicipline (and knowledge) you find on this forum and the prosoundweb forum is probably the reason why people like to stay and live with the limitation of a general forum.

I think one of the reasons you don't get an answer is that it hasn't happened except for the cases you have read about. I referred earlier to an incident where I left the board for a couple of hours after soundcheck and couldn't get any sound for the show, did a few things including a reboot, and can not really tell what the problem was, because I went through the whole system at once, resetting mains processor while the X32 was booting. As far as I have been able to tell, the console will be silent untill it is ready, but nobody knows if it will go quiet when it freezes, because that hasn't happened.

Per is a longtime forum contributor and has the right idea here. While we're happy to have the X32 discussions that are going on, our job is not to be a manufacturer's forum - so we try and keep them contained. It's not that more than one thread isn't OK, if you look you can see some X32 threads that cover specific applications (e.g. theater) have managed to retain their own identity. However, until things calm down I'm going to keep all product specific talk (e.g. "Fader Jumping Problem") to this thread, or else we'd have several new threads spawned every day. That rule is not hard and fast, but if you want to break it I'd expect your thread to be a significant contribution of general interest (e.g. "distortion behavior of X32 compressor with various time constants").

Huh - what do you know - each post can have a subject. How quaint :D~:-D~:grin:

BTW - when doing a reply or reply with quote you get the quick reply editor which doesn't appear to let you change the subject for your post. Apparently you have to click on the Go Advanced button to be able to do that. Frankly I think it's easier to just ignore that bogus little subject line than hope people are going to a) notice it and b) bother to go to the advanced editor to change it. Heck, it would be nice if people would trim their quotes - let alone update their subject lines!

I hadn't paid any attention to it until you fussed about it so I doubt many others will pay attention to it. Again, it takes two seconds to trim extra crap out of quotes and that doesn't even get done so good luck with that....

I see the sense for just one X32 topic, but then people can't get too upset about the title, because you have to read each one anyway - you can't search for just posts with the "fader jumping problem" for example. However 144 pages does rather suggest a VERY popular topic, that maybe does deserve some sub-dividing - especially as there are now links all over the net directing new people here because it's got quality content. If you can't actually find the bits you are interested in, that's a bit of a negative. A topic sooooo popular it has to be kept clogged up? Sounds like something a Brit dreamed up - 'quaint' logic.
 
Help! I've locked the X32! How do I unlock it!

Hi.
Well, I've just received a brand new X32 for evaluation and so far it's been great, but I've just accidentally locked it and don't know how to unlock it. That little snippet of info isn't in the manual......................

I'd appreciate an answer ASAP so I can continue having fun!

yeah, i've not had a lockup or crash happen either. but i will say that the desk doesn't pass audio on standard boot up. and when the console boots up it automatically takes the stereo and mono master faders to zero. don't know if that's changeable in the preferences, but that's the default behavior. so that'd certainly cause a loss of audio on boot up regardless of any other issues.

that being said... again, i've not had anything even approaching a lockup happen at this point. i do think if i did, it would probably mean a loss of audio to reboot....
 
So easy...

My (church's) X32 finally arrived last night, so I can concur with other commenters that this desk is not compatible with getting much sleep - spent a bit of a late night geeking out... :)

This is the first digital desk I've ever used, and so far have found it a breeze to use. Though, that could be helped by the fact that I've been following this and other threads for months, and watched plenty of Youtube videos beforehand, so it felt like I knew everything already (the Behringer webinars were great, particularly the busses one). I even had my desk completely configured before it even arrived - channels, routing, busses, and all - using XControl, so all I had to do was upgrade the firmware, and load in my show file - like magic!

Looking forward to filling it with actual inputs this weekend, and putting it through it's paces...

Been following the forums for a while deciding on wether or not to take the plunge and buy an X32. After reading all the informative posts for the last month, I just ordered my board yesterday and hope to have it the first of next week. Another sound engineer I work with also ordered one, and we were wondering if there would be a way we could pump a multitrack signal ( Nine Inch Nails garageband download for example) from a mac or pc DAW so we can basically get used to using the board before we use it in a live environment? Any thoughts or examples would be greatly appreciated! Im really looking forward to tearing into this board!

YouTube is a huge resource as is this forum. If you watch every YouTube video you'd be up to speed pretty quick...
(and that's where I learned about the home button).
