X32 Discussion

Re: Fader Motorisation Quality Problem

All,I just have to report this, you can see when I made this post, well, 15 minutes ago I got a call from Jim at Behringer in Kidderminster asking how they could help. Did I want to bring the unit in (I'm less than an hour from them), they could get it sorted there and then and I could see the care centre etc. As I've not had a re-occurrence of the problem I said I'd wait and see and then bring it in if I need to. Jim was very helpful and clearly they are ready to do whatever is needed if anything is required. I've never experienced this quality of support in 20 years not even on paid IT support contracts. If I do go up they suggested I take some photos of the care centre and post them here............ might just do that anyway as I do think this is a really great product. The X32, the S16 and the 6 x P16-Ms all integrate in such a seamless way.
We've had our desk for a few months now. It gets used every Sunday a couple of times and is in dry warm stable environment. I have a couple of channels linked for stereo input. This Sunday went to bring one channel up but the linked channel did not move up with it. In the end after much manual moving up and down and switching between banks to get the sticky fader to move rapidly from top to bottom, got it move with it's linked fader. I hope this is not a sign of things to come? I'm located in Ross On Wye, not far from Kidderminster

Dear Mike,

As my colleague Jim explained on the telephone, you are more than welcome to bring the console over to Kidderminster and have it inspected while you wait, just give us a heads-up first so we can ensure we have the resources available. Feel free to bring your camera along and take some pictures to share with the forum community.

Re: AES EBU output

Not on the X32 rack.

Exactly, so don't know if it was overlooked or is not documented or ??? but is at least for me it would sure be nice.

Other alternative is for Behringer to offer a usb or firewire to AESEBU box

Other than that the product looks fantastic (I'm looking at is as a rack mount audio mixer in a Video Travel Pack with the BMD Atem /TVS

Re: Fader Motorisation Quality Problem

It is a Samsung 540n 15" monitor, with its native resolution (1024x768), which one almost fits with Xcontrol resolution

Exporting Scenes

Is there a way to export already saved scenes (not the active scene on the console) to a USB stick? The "Export Show" will do it, of course, but we want to stay in the current scene when importing and don't want to import a Show.

Thanks!

You can only export the active scene, but that shouldn't be a problem normally, just save the scene you are currently on, load the scene you want to export, export it and then revert to the scene you were working on. You can revert to that scene just by using UNDO even if you haven't saved, but save just in case.

Our X32 with integrated Xcontrol

Not trying to be silly, but couldn't you have set a 15" laptop on top of the dog house ?
At least this gives me an idea what to do with my HP tablet (rotateable keyboard) that has been sitting the cloest for a couple years now...

Thanks for this, confirming what I thought I knew.

Unfortunately, it is a problem in this circumstance to do as you say, because we want to save a previously saved scene to USB while a different act is performing, and load the scene into another console while a different act is performing through that console. If the operators can remember/have time to save the scene to USB while active, it's no problem. If they can't and have moved on to another group, that triggers the question.

Festival with tight time constraints.

Thanks,

Re: X32 Discussion

Hi Guys,

We have started a new Tech Talk Series on the BEHRINGER forum. We will be covering any hot topics we are getting questions about.

The S16 Digital Snake has been shipping for the past few months and we have noticed an increase in the number of setup questions. The first Tech Talk covers this topic.

BEHRINGER Tech Talk #01: S16 and X32

Keep an eye on the X32 Resources area for more additions to the BEHRINGER Tech Talk Series.
Also feel free to let us know of other topics you would like to see in the future.

Re: Fader Motorisation Quality Problem

It is no a laptop.
It is a small size cpu under the X32, with its monitor, mouse and keyboard.
The screen is mounted on the X32, and the doghouse can be opened without problems

Re: AES EBU output

I understand that the electronics inside are different but at least the "sheet-metal" and connector is there. Maybe an alternative is if there was a USB or Firewire converter that would bring the outputs to AESEBU
Currently the option is to just use a DEQ2496 on the analog outs but that takes up an additional rack space etc
John

My dream is to have an AES 50 to AES/EBU box for connecting the desks with my digital amps for main PA and monitors. With 48 and 96 kHz working with both Behringer and Midas desks. The digital connection to the amp is tonal a big step forward. 1 AES 50 input on the front panel to 16 AES/EBU outs on the back. Thanks for reading.

Re: X32 Discussion

Also, the getting started guide is quite thin. And the owner's manual is not printed. Who wants to scroll through a PDF while working a board? A laptop/LCD screen is too bright compared to the working surface of the mixer so there is a bit of "night blindness" going on that you don't get with a paper copy.

Well, might I suggest that you print the manual. Easy fix.

There is a way, you have to export the show which should not be a problem in any way, then import a single file from the show files. It works around your problem, and shouldn't be any harder to do than importing a show file.
If your scene was scene 32 in myshow, then simply import myshow.032 from the stick just as you would myscene.scn
