Part 74 License Eligibility for Silent Disco

Paul, Just to be clear, devices operating at 614 MHz can be purchased and used by unlicensed users, correct?

Part 74 License Eligibility for Silent Disco

What does "under the control of the licensee" mean in this context? If the licensee is a company, and an employee of the company is present, does that count?

Part 74 License Eligibility for Silent Disco

I am looking to understand if a company hosting events at many different sites using "silent disco" one-to-many RF broadcast systems in the 600Mhz band would need a Part 74 license as a business, if it would be eligible, and/or if a different license would be needed for each site?

    QSC Acoustidesign subs comparison

In looking at QSC's line of installation subs, I wondered if folks had experience using the S28T or the S112sw. Compared to the S28T (a dual 8" bandpass sub), the S112 is lower sensitivity, lower output, and its form factor seems to indicate s that it's intended to be mounted on a wall as part...

Most bulletproof off the shelf wallplate 10k volume control

Hmmm, looks like allen bradley doesn't make a 10k ohm linear pot unfortunately. Edit: Or rather they have one but it doesn't have the standard 1/4" shaft. Realizing my parameters are narrower than I thought.

Most bulletproof off the shelf wallplate 10k volume control

Controlling a DSP unit. Would this be appropriate for my use case based on my answer above?

Most bulletproof off the shelf wallplate 10k volume control

Group fitness class. The instructor needs to be able to know when they reach maximum in the middle of class without looking. Up/down buttons aren't fast enough and have the same lack of feedback.

Most bulletproof off the shelf wallplate 10k volume control

What is the most robustly constructed off-the-shelf 10k wallplate volume control available for purchase? Hoping to find one with a physical stop at minimum and maximum. Knob size on the product doesn't matter, but I'm planning to install a larger knob if it is smaller, which I suspect will...

    AV as a managed services

Have any of you worked in a setting where your relationship with a client began with an installation project but continued longterm for event support? I'm looking into the viability of pitching AV installation/design services as part of a "you don't have to worry about any aspect of technology...

    JBL Eon 10 G2 to Yamaha DBR10

I'm guessing you are referring to the JBL EON610. http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/portable-market/eon600-series/eon610#.XKenGZjYqUk This would have fit the bill.

Boundary Mics vs Overhead Mics for acoustically challenged meeting room

Ok, this is reassuring. Getting the mics closer will help. Given that they are floating mics and can be moved closer to the speaker as needed, the distance will likely often be less than the 30" you figured. Thanks for doing those calculations!

    JBL Eon 10 G2 to Yamaha DBR10

This thread deserves an update! We swapped the Eons with DBR10s and everyone has been happy with the results. There are no subs but the space is acoustically compromised in terms of adjacencies anyway, so it wasn't needed.

Boundary Mics vs Overhead Mics for acoustically challenged meeting room

Hi folks, I'm responsible for the AV system in a meeting room that has high concrete ceilings, 2 bare walls, and a long glass facade. The original system was spec'd with two Clearone hanging array mics about 5 feet above the table - each is a little capsule with 3 mic elements that are...

Seeking Authorized Shure repairs provider in UK

Hi there, I'm interested in forming a partnership with a UK-based Shure-authorized repair center that is not an actual Shure facility. The reason being is I need a bit more flexibility than Shure is willing to offer in streamlining what may become a relatively high volume of repairs. The items...
