After reading a paper by the city of Amsterdam regarding SPL management during large events and especially some remarks regarding Cardioid Sub Arrays I did some sub array designs using Meyer Sound’s Map on Line.
After the predictions were done i decided to test a bunch of them using the 6 x 900LFC’s I have available within my company.
The tools on the processing part used in al of the screen captures are only delay and polarity to get maximum reduction at the back of the arrays. No EQ Allpass filters or other fancy options where used.
The equipment used: 6 x Meyer Sound 900LFC/Smaart V8.2/ISEMcon matched set of 8 EMX7150 mic’s/Yamaha RIO1608/Dante Virtual Sound card/lots of coffee.
The Arrays I tested can be done with just about any brand available on the market although I would be careful using horns as to front loaded subs.
