The city with big shoulders
I've had this R&R Cases small trunk/large briefcase for a few years, sitting around. Finally figured out what I wanted to do, so stripped out the old foam, and made it into a mic case. The blue block with cutouts is a Penn Elcom prefab foam block for 25 SM58 sized mics, and then there are four extra small cutouts for small diaphragm condensers. The rest is black or white 2.0lbs. density ethafoam, and I used 1/4", 1/2", and 1" to produce the final product. The front cavity is sized for four Countryman DI boxes. The left side cavity, while also holding bagged mics, clips, and accessories, is also just wide enough for two Whirlwind Director DI boxes to nest side by side. There are four not visible in the picture. The top and bottom are lined with 1" thick foam, sides are 1/2" or 1/4".
Now I need some more mics. ;>)
