Heil Kick drum mic partially working

Hi,



Sorry i've forgottont the mic model number; comes with the 7 & 8 piece drum mic package.



At soundcheck one day it was fine. Later on, I can't say if I noticed it failing during the gig or not; kick wasn't the most important thing for me to listen to at that gig..



Next sound check it's faulty and sounds like a 200hz high pass filter was on it. No, channel and cabling are fine; checked those out.



The prior gig was outside but no rain.



Any ideas ?

Andrew - fear not. I'm sure Bob Leonard will have an answer.

Can you post a picture of the mic, or look and see what the model number was? May be helpful.

Yeah I was hoping for that. Mic is at home; will need to look it up later.



If it helps any, it's got a red grill <big wide grin>



Seriously though, Bob would know the one. Big fat one; bigger than a B52.

I'm amazed your PR-48 has failed. These are one of the best made drum mics in existance. At any rate I'm sure it's under warranty. Go to the link below and call Heil Sound. They'll tell you what to do and should be able to turn the mic around in no time at all. You could also ask about a cross ship.
