Vienna, Austria – November 2019… During the summer break, the Volksoper in Vienna modernized and partially renewed its NEXUS network, which had been installed by Berlin-based manufacturer Stage Tec since 2002. In addition, the NEXUS network was supplemented by a router. The project was undertaken with the SALZBRENNER media systems house.
 
The project included testing the NEXUS components from four Base Devices that had been in use for 17 years. After a factory overhaul and calibration, the majority of the components can still be used. In the new system, a NEXUS STAR router was added in order to efficiently achieve the high number of fiber-optic connections required. By upgrading the NEXUS software, the Volksoper can now use newer modules such as the XDIP DANTE board or the XMIC 8-channel TrueMatch® microphone converter.
