[QUOTE="Brian Murphy, post: 57881, member: 1805"] Re: Suggestions for smaller SUBS??? I listened to a few more subs today. I didn't bother with the PRX618 because it was too wide and one person would have to lift it in an uncomfortable postion, unless they were a lot larger than I. I asked the sales guy to set the ch's flat but I"m pretty sure they were NOT. I'm not familiar with the setup on the Presonus digital board but the bass sounded like they had the eq pushed. The EV ZXA1 was so-so and I doubt the SPL and power specs because it just didn't have it. The clipping LED was flashing and I didn't think it was that loud and you could hear that the woofer was working too hard. Then again the listening room at that specific GC was terrible. It was a VERY poor setup. The Yamaha DXS12 & DXS15 were a bit muddy with the boost on when I played some "Aja" cuts and sounded terrible when I switched to Yo-Yo Ma playing the Vivaldi Cello Concerto in Bb. The notes ran together on long passages and it sounded loud but "boomy" and almost muffled rather than distinct and smooth. I won't visit that GC again to audition speakers as the room &^%*$ ! !
