Re: why? - cause it looks cool that's why.... I had no idea what brand or model speakers were being used-so my comment had nothing to do with that. When somebody asks if there is a "problem" with something (who know what it is) in a photo-unless it is VERY obvious, there is no way to really know what they are talking about-hence my comments earlier on. If there is a specific product misuse-and it is not obvious what the product model or function is-then it is very hard to guess. In the photo in question-there are all kinds of things it could be-lighting-sound-band layout-mic use- monitor use-placement of the stage in the room and so forth. At this stage of the game-I guess we will never know exactly what we are supposed to have an opinion on. Anyway=as to the use of the subs in an L configuration-I see no issues. The top one is used to get the higher full range box up in the air more-which is a good thing. As far as it having any "issue" with the one lying on the ground-no. The wavelengths are simply much larger to have any real effect. I would be MUCH more concerned about the location of the subs to the side walls-the rear wall and the spacing between them. And to be totally honest (that is the way I am wired)-I had not noticed that the outside cabinets were stood on end. I had to look closer to the photo to even see it. Kinda hard to tell with the lights on them the way they are. Again-the whole "obvious" thing.
