So we just bought a house and we had to switch from a using fiber to a cable company, and the router the cable company provided has almost no range at all. I tried changing the channel and that helped a little, but what what i'm trying to do is use my cable modem/router (cisco cp3825) as just the modem and use my other modem/router (Motorolla NVG510) as just the router. Does anyone here know if this is possible?

Entirely possible, just use the other wifi router as you would an ethernet switch, just turn off the DHCP server on one unit and hook the new modem's ethernet connection to the switch on the back of the old router

And if you want, you can simply disconnect the Cisco antenna. That router is a hunk of junk from my memories with it.
