X32 rack interesting issue...

So im playing around with an X32 rack simple routing setup.. Main line in L/R 15&16 input channel. Routed to two matrixes.. One for main out going to all outputs 1-8 XLR and another for sub out going to all AUXes 1-6.. If i A/B the output from the XLRs its way music coming from them than the AUX outs.. All input and output levels are the same and even using the same wire with the only difference being the AUX out using a balanced 1/4 plug.. Is this normal? I would think that both should give equal output everything else being constant...

As I recall reading somewhere a long time ago, output level on the auxes is 6 db quieter than the main LR. But I don't remember if that was on the 1/4 inch outs, XLR outs or both. It's been a number of years since I read that, though.

Yes. 1/4" outs are single ended (not balanced) vs XLR outs, which are fully balanced, therefore signal should be 6dB lower.
