I think this is the right thread...

I am trying to use Yamaha Studio Manager with my 01v96i. I have Windows 7 64 bit, have installed SM, 01v96i, a MIDI and USB driver, but I can't synchronize SM and the console. I have gotten the MIDIs to show up, but the resynchronize button is greyed out. Any ideas?
 
Hi Larry,

Am assuming in Studio Manager you have set the 01V96i in the WorkSpace?
In 01V96i Editor, System Setup, have you set the input and output ports?

Have you rebooted your computer?

Yes, Yes, and No. I'll try that. This is our church board, so I won't be able to try again until Sunday. Any other ideas would be greatly helpful. I have heard that the order in which you install these could cause problems? I installed MIDI and USB last. Should I reinstall SM?
 
I've not used the MIDI ports so no advice there, but for the rest - it's almost always been not having the mixer in the workspaces or assigning correctly the virtual i/o ports.

Note that you need BOTH the Studio Manager and the 01v96 Editor software.
