Valencia, Spain – April 2011… D.A.S. Audio, a global leader in loudspeaker systems, power amplification, and related technology for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications, is pleased to announce a new partnership with heavy metal icons MANOWAR and Magic Circle Music. Formed by a desire to showcase the company’s cutting edge loudspeaker systems with a legendary artist known for their ‘loud, bombastic, and high fidelity sound’, the partnership commenced with MANOWAR’s Battle Hymns 2011 tour and will include a special performance during Musikmesse 2011 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Sharing a desire to deliver an uncompromised, crystal clear in-concert sound at any volume, MANOWAR’s Battle Hymns 2011 tour is performed exclusively using loudspeakers drawn primarily from D.A.S. Audio’s Aero Series 2 and Stage Monitor Series product groups. The band’s tour commenced March 5th in Worcester, MA, U.S.A. and included performances in Greece, Switzerland, England, Sweden, Portugal, and The Netherlands before concluding in Madrid, Spain. Joey DeMaio, bass guitarist and founder of MANOWAR and president of Magic Circle Music, commented on the partnership with D.A.S. Audio. “This union was brought about because of our mutual desire to set new standards in live sound reproduction—proving that live music can be both ‘louder than hell’ and crystal clear.”
The D.A.S. Audio loudspeaker setup for the Battle Hymns 2011 tour varies somewhat from performance to performance (based upon the venue, its capacity, and other factors), but includes a substantial equipment setup no matter where the band performs. As an example, at the March 25th concert at Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, the system included twenty-four D.A.S. Aero 50 3-way line array elements flown twelve units per side as the house mains. The loudspeakers were driven by six Lab Gruppen FP10000Q power amplifiers with an LM26 digital audio loudspeaker processor from Lake Processing handling loudspeaker management tasks.
Augmenting this setup, four D.A.S. Audio Aero 12A powered, 2-way mid-high line array elements served in a front fill capacity. These loudspeakers were positioned across the front of the stage. For side fill purposes, three Aero 50 enclosures per left-right side—amplified and processed using Lab Gruppen / Lake Processing hardware—were accompanied by three LX-218A powered subwoofers per side. Three D.A.S. Audio SM-15A 2-way, multipurpose stage monitors completed the loudspeaker arsenal.

During Musikmesse 2011 in Frankfurt, Europe’s largest trade show for musical instruments, lighting, recording, and sound reinforcement equipment, D.A.S. Audio will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special private event that will include an exclusive performance by MANOWAR. Here, D.A.S. Audio’s guests and business associates will have the opportunity to experience, first-hand, the power and clarity of D.A.S. loudspeaker systems. Trade and public visitors are invited to visit D.A.S. Audio during the show at Hall 8.0, booth H56.
Robert Giner, D.A.S. Audio’s Marketing Director, shared his views on the partnership with MANOWAR and Magic Circle Music. “The year 2011 marks a milestone achievement for us,” Giner stated. “Founded in 1971 by a young industrial engineer named Juan Alberola—who today serves as company president—D.A.S. Audio has evolved into a global sound reinforcement leader with a comprehensive collection of products offering versatility and solutions for the contractor, sound rental companies, and the working musician. Our partnership with MANOWAR and Magic Circle Music has provided us with the opportunity to show music enthusiasts as well as professionals all over the world our many varied product lines and their varied capabilities. We are very pleased to be working with Joey DeMaio and MANOWAR.”
