Alcons LR24 Pro-Ribbon Line-Array Nominated At Debut PIPA Awards

In the 15th year of the annual Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA), a brand new ‘sister’ awards scheme has been announced which recognises excellence in the professional lighting and sound industry. One of the debut nominees is the Alcons Audio LR24 pro-ribbon line array.

As with the MIPA scheme for the musical instrument industry, voted for by over 100 magazines from across the globe, the Prolight+Sound International Press Awards (PIPA) will determine the best professional sound and lighting products of 2013/14.

The winners will be presented during the Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt and, with MIPA claimed to be the ‘Grammies of the MI industry’, it is expected that PIPA will attain a similar status.

The Alcons LR24 has been nominated for a PIPA in the Concert Sound category, recognising the innovation which allows it to deliver the same SPL as equivalent products in the larger-format line array category, but with up to 90% less distortion.

Utilising the company’s pro-ribbon technology, LR24 sets a new benchmark in terms of SPL, projection control and sound quality. It features the purpose-designed RBN1402rsr, 2000W 14” pro-ribbon transducer, with independent measurement tests clearly showing the technical superiority of the product.

“We are really pleased that the technical advance of LR24 has been recognised by being nominated for a PIPA, especially from so many publications from across the globe,” says Alcons co-founder Tom Back. “Prolight+Sound Frankfurt marks the official market introduction of the LR24 system, so being able to kick-off with this nomination will give it a definite head start.”

Visitors to Prolight+Sound 2014 will be able to hear for themselves why the LR24 has been nominated for a PIPA, with Alcons hosting off-site demonstrations of the product on the afternoons of Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th March. Reservations can be made [email protected] or at the Alcons Prolight+Sound stand at Hall 8, G60.

The PIPA ceremony takes place in Hall 5.0 on Thursday 13th March at 6.30pm. More information can be found at www.pipa-award.com.
