BUENA PARK, Calif. (May 18, 2018)—Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio Division has announced changes to its Canadian business operation in terms of distribution and representation for the commercial audio (CA) channel. This key decision was based on the desire to expand Yamaha Commercial Audio coverage within Canada’s expansive geography, while also bringing the company’s industry-leading full audio solutions to new commercial audio vertical market segments.
The Yamaha Professional Audio Division has named DataVisual, an Ottawa-based distribution company currently representing Yamaha Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) and Revolabs product, to represent all Yamaha Commercial Audio products, including digital mixing systems, networking products, and NEXO loudspeaker systems, to the many commercial audio vertical markets in Canada. The company will team up with the Yamaha Professional Audio existing commercial audio district manager in Québec, Michel Trepanier, and will assume sole representation of Yamaha Commercial Audio products to all the rest of the Canadian provinces for the commercial channel. DataVisual’s team will also rely upon Ashley Clarke, Yamaha application specialist based in the Toronto area, to provide superior technical support.
DataVisual is renowned for their professionalism and success in many vertical markets including corporate/enterprise, education, houses of worship, staging, live events, touring, and more. The company brings a unique approach to their customers by way of a large field sales team, combined with a strong internal sales and technical support group. In addition, DataVisual is growing their highly respected team by hiring even more key staff dedicated to the professional audio market.
“Adding market-leading Yamaha Professional Audio products and NEXO to our already strong line up of visual communication technologies means that we can now propose truly end-to-end solutions to our customers in Canada,” states DataVisual CEO, Lisa Kislich-Lemyre. “Our success with Yamaha CIS and Revolabs products has illuminated the tremendous system solution possibilities by taking our partnership to the next level with our friends in the Yamaha Professional Audio Division.”
The Canadian market has seen solid economic gains similar to that of the U.S. and this growth has also been happening in the musical instrument pro audio segment (MIPA), which will continue to be ably represented by Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. Now, with DataVisual offering the Yamaha Commercial Audio brand to the commercial channel, the full range of Yamaha and NEXO product will be very well represented across the entire Canadian professional audio market.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with DataVisual and continue to serve our strong network of Yamaha Commercial Audio dealers in Canada while at the same time exploring new business opportunities in the hospitality, enterprise, retail, corporate, and stadium/arena vertical market segments,” states Paul Furtkamp, director of sales, Yamaha Commercial Audio and NEXO products. “DataVisual has a market-leading presence in the visual side of the professional AV market, and they are aggressively expanding their business into the commercial audio segment. We are very eager to set off on this journey with them.”
