After seeing a post on the new [other] forum asking how a user might EQ their drums (with M7 screenshot and all), I'm appreciative of the signal-to-noise ratio we're enjoying around here.

Simple. There are a huge number of people out there who think the gear is the answer. SO they spec it or rent it or buy it or make others buy it, and don't understand why they're still turning out crap. These are people who think the tools do the work, who lack a fundamental skillset and basic knowledge of what they are doing.



On at least half the help requests I get for sound systems, the first thing I have them do is pull their inserts and push every bypass switch they can find. You'd be surprised (or not) how often that makes things sound better.

The only problem so far is that without the clueless noobs to bash around I don't feel nearly so smart or superior.........
