...don't buy Meijer Baked Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Crisps. At least not if you want to enjoy your snack in peace. It's eat a chip, crumble a small chip for a cat, crumble a small chip for another cat, repeat.... They don't bother me as much when I get the Cheetos out, but I still have to give them some, lest they just sit and stare at me.

Mine like popcorn. They ''kill'' it and then eat it. One of them will only eat it if he takes it out of my hand. Lotsa fun on idle Saturday nights......

Re: If you have cats....

Anytime I have a snack cat must be involved. I have to hide the red licorice. Cat can remove the top if I leave it on the floor. Loves oatmeal cookies.

Re: If you have cats....

We are cat lovers. We had one that died a couple years ago that could open a roll of Ritz crackers and take one out at a time.

We have one that really likes dried banana chips and cranberries now and won't eat meat at all. And another one that tells my wife when it is time to get up for a bowl of cereal so she can have the left over milk. All of them seem to like pop corn and the one that makes my wife wake up every morning loves corn on the cob and saltine crackers!

My issue is not yet my cats love for human food, but rather trying to get him off the kitchen table. Photo evidence demonstrates the problem better than words...

Re: If you have cats....

If my parents cat has a thing for cold cuts (pretty much any type but smoked turkey is his favorite). If they open the fridge he will jump in, grab a wrapped pack of lunch meat and hide it. He then opens the plastic, eats all the meat at his leisure, and leaves the empty package on the counter for them to throw away. It is an ongoing problem since that meat is usually supposed to be used for my little brother's lunch.

What a lovely cat.....he or she is positively beaming

And why do they love ''attending'' to you in the bathroom every time?

99.99999% chance it is a male. Orange Tabbies are almost 100% males just as Calicos are almost 100% females. In fact I know of only one male calico to have existed and I have personally only seen one female orange tabby even though they do occasionally happen.

It's a male 1 1/2 years old, but my family cat growing up was a female orange tabby, fwiw.

Thanks for the kind words Charlotte.. the cat was my girlfriend's idea but he's got quite a personality and a tendency to lay upside down that can only make one smile.

Until you try to pet that motherfucker and he kills you. I'm on my second girlfriend with cat(s). I like the girl a lot more, but the cat reminds me of the last one...

Yep. I have personally had an exception to both rules. I currently have a very energetic Female Orange Tabby that loves sitting on your shoulder.

Growing up I had a Male Calico named Spice. He was a handful also

Re: If you have cats....

I've seen plenty of ginger/white females and quite a few all ginger girls, enough that when I was a veterinary nurse we always routinely checked for testes prior to neuter/spaying. They are certainly more common than calico/tortie males.

I have only seen one male tortie, it's rare, I think the guideline is something like 1:400,000......we were spaying this tortie cat and after much fishing around couldn't find her uterus until I copped a feel under the drape and there were his balls!

We went ahead and neutered him after taking a quick photo for proof (the Royal Veterinary College is always interested in these cases). They are usually without exception infertile but like with retained testes there is a risk of the 'nads becoming cancerous so off they come.

I'm currently a slave to these two and I miss them sooooo much when I go on tour. Fortunately my husband is very fond of cats!
