Suggestions Wanted

I'm looking for a box or boxes that can hit 130dB @1m continuous. I need 140 or so degrees wide, and MAYBE 20 vertical. And it has to be less than 20'' tall. Suggestions?

Maybe Turbosound Flex Array. They can be used as point or line source boxes and have tight vertical patterns. Two wide on the TFA-600H would do the trick. If you didn't need such wide dispersion, there's a 100º version of the box as well.

Never mind, it's 22'' tall You're going to probably have to look at some small line array boxes.

I may be able to do 100 wide with an outfill. I'm going to pursue the L/A avenue, I haven't considered them because ''you need six a side''. I was looking to do conventional, but nothing conventional is going to have any LF pattern control in the size needed anyways. I may bring in my QSC stuff and try them. I have used them in similar situations (although much deeper room) in the past and once the bottom boxes are blocked by all those damn people you end up with a foot long L/A.



The other option is to get the venue to raise the ceiling 10' or so.

FWIW, you can use line array elements even as singles if the vertical coverage calls for it. The length requirement is for increased vertical directivity of lower frequencies which you're not going to get very much of even with 6 boxes @ 20'' tall. With short lines, it's really only HF & MF coverage that's going to have an real V directivity. So in your situation, a one or two deep hang of line elements could work ok for something requiring relatively tight vertical coverage since the low end is never going to have much pattern control anyway. Good to get the mids & highs under control though.
