From the description it sounds to me like it would be better with with no mic level at all.

I really feel sorry for people who have to go through the world putting other people down. To get up on stage and just be rude and call it art is beyond me.

On a up note, it appears an artist that I was talking up a couple of years ago, Trombone Shorty, is really starting to do some big shows.

Oh joy.. Besides wading through the drivel about old white men, blowjobs, and a woefully underappreciated Soundman, I only understood about 2/3 of that "article" from skimming it. Truly written in youthful fashion... One minute and thirty seconds of my time I will never see again.

I guess since I've now heard of them via the internet... he is partially right... but I didn't read one thing in that entire article that implied that any MUSIC was being played at that event.

Also, abuse of the crew over the sound system is something that I just cannot tolerate. I have never had anything like that happen at a show I was working, but have seen it quite a few times at other events and it's just unacceptable.

I got dragged to a David Lee Roth show in Baltimore a few years back, and found myself surprised to be actually enjoying the evening... until a drunken Roth went on a 4-5 minute rant at the lighting guy for blacking out the stage at the end of the song. (The lighting show btw was flawless and very well executed that night IMHO). He continued to lash out at the crew between songs for the rest of the night, and it was just completely uncalled for. Totally ruined the night... and made the vibe of the show very awkward for the audience between songs.

Every show I've seen Trombone Shorty do WAS a "big show" no matter how small the venue was :).

He puts as much energy and music into every little show as he can. I wish HIM nothing but future success.

You may have noticed at the bottom of the page the comment I posted under a "nom de web".

That might protect me from this group's fans but it didn't fool one of the managers of the club. When she saw this article and the comment she said, "that has to be Lee, it's much better written than the review".

"Guilty as charged", I've been wasting a good university education for over four decades now.

Lee, we were actually offered this show first, and my booking person politely passed on it.

When I saw that article, I gave him a bonus! :lol:

(And I hope the engineers on 11th st got one also!)
