which is very well written and I think outlines lots of good points I am wondering if there should be a subsection forum for Political/Religious issues. While I find them interesting I know that there are some users who probably do not. If this was in a separate sub forum those who are interested could find those discussions immediately while those who are not or feel offended/upset could avoid them completely.

Seriously, though, while those threads capture a lot of attention while they are hot there just aren't enough of them in actuality to justify a separate sub-forum. Then I'd have to make sub forums for cars, guns, funny YouTube videos... and it would all end up wasting screen real estate to no advantage. If in the future there is enough traffic of this kind to make it difficult to stay on top of threads in the Basement then I'll certainly make some sub-forums.
