And with the way cables get all tangled up on a stage (especially after a number of bands), it would be quite funny to see them start to retract and then pull the knots together-and as you start to untangle them-they start to retract again.

It could make for quite a funny video.

OH I forgot-these are intended for DJ's, and they only use a single mic-so no mess-my bad.

I wonder how long the "other" end of the cable is? Is it long enough to reach to a snake head? WHat about theinstrumnet versions? Is it long enough to leave on the ground and reach up to a keyboard or the input to a 6' tall amp rack? Or do you set it on top and watch it fall off and break the input jack?

Sounds like a lot more trouble than it saves.

I bet the PowersThatBe behind this were actually smart enough to exclude the falling reel situation in the warrantee too. "Not responsible for any damage to equipment this device is attached to" or something like that.
