IEM Ear Buds, suggestions.

What is your favorite ear buds for IEMs systems? I am getting a set of custom molds in the next couple weeks and I'm looking for a set of drivers.

I'm looking for a pair that will give me the fullest sound. These will be used pretty much for everything that the 1/8" plug can fit into for listening to music to myself/bands.

Budget: TBD, but suggest High$$$, Mid$$ and Low$ ones.

High to Mid $$$ - JH Audio.
High to Mid $$$ - Sensaphonics
High to Mid $$$ - Ultimate Ears

I've never been a fan of the Futuresonics or Westone offerings. Some people love 'em, to each his (or her) own.

Mid to Low $$$ - Livewires/Fidelity (whatever they're called this week)

Low $$$ - Shure generics with a set of Sensaphonics custom sleeves.

I like my Sensaphonics because they're the soft silicone. That's also a drawback. I haven't ordered my JH Audios just yet, but Jerry has the client list (and experience) to back it up. I'm very much looking forward to some new JH11s or JH13s.

Re: IEM Ear Buds, suggestions.

On reputation alone, I'll second the JH Audio stuff. Word on the street is that it blows the current UE stuff away. That being said, I have been very satisfied with my various sets of UE products; UE7, 11, and 18. Of the three, the 11's are still my favorite for mixing with, and translate pretty well even when mixing for artists with completely different makes of IEM. The 18's are nice for kicking back and listening to music, but I think are a little exaggerated for stage use. The generic UE products are also quite good.

I have no experience with other makes of IEM, but Sensaphonics have a great rep, and on the budget end, Live Wires have gotten very good reviews as well.

My $0.002 (adjusted for inflation)

Re: IEM Ear Buds, suggestions.

I've got a pair of JH16's. Love them.

The JH13's are really good too (just not quite as much low end extention - not 'hyped' but don't go as low).

I went with the 16's since I have a few artists that are on them, but recommend the 13's unless you have a reason to go with 16's.
