online stage plots

Im sure some of you have already seen this but I came it across it and thought it would be nice to share...

http://freestageplots.com

I have an all day 5 band thing on Saturday and not a single band could produce a stage plot when I asked for their reqs - not even on a bev nap... So I found this, forwarded it to them and got plots for 4 of them - an amazing thing!

Re: online stage plots

Except all the important instruments are missing from the choices. I may have send out a plot with 6 accordians across the front.

Re: online stage plots

Actually they have the accordian, they are missing my banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and upright bass.

One of my current acts has a mountain dulcimer in every show.

Re: online stage plots

Handy tool, but it needs DIs, amps, and monitors.

Those are in there, Bennett. You need to use the pull down menu on the right of the plot.

Personally, i have never felt the need for pictures on a stage plot. I am happy with a square box that says 110V for a power drop or a square box that says bass amp (input 8).

Re: online stage plots

Fairly cool website. I am with Jay though. Just the facts for me. Those icons get all screwed up once the are run through the fax machine.

FWIW, I put my stage plot on my iDisk (Apple's cloud) and have the iDisk app on my iPhone. If I'm out somewhere and need a copy of the plot I can either show it to them or email it straight from the cloud. Pretty damn handy.

Re: online stage plots

Cool, but some of the symbols need to have the options of facing US, DS, SR, and SL.
My drum kit looks silly with one stand facing the wrong way.

Re: online stage plots

For nostalgia's sake I run my stage plot through a fax before spilling coffee on it, then scanning it at the kinko's before emailing to the venue. I think it makes people feel more comfortable right before I come in and tell them that "THAT rider is horribly out of date and I don't even know how you got it".

It's the little details that keep me employed......
