I have just made another uprgrade to my little system. I will be running a pair of 712's and a pair of 718's off an Itech 6000. I have looked at the settings for the DRPA and DR 260. These appear to be the only ones available and they both use different settings. Just wondering what other users if any on this forum are using for settings.

Any help, recommendations or info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tunnings for SRX system

You can manually input the settings for Driverack 260/480 into the amp via System Architect. The I-Tech processing is based on the 480/4800 series. There are presets for the SRX speakers using the XTi amps, but the processing is different; not at all "I-Tech Light."

Alternately, you can contact JBL and eventually they will respond. Ask them to build a custom preset load for your speakers and I-Tech.

Have fun, good luck.

Re: Tunnings for SRX system

I had a custom made preset made for me when I was running my MRX 515's. The 712/718 tunnings for the DR 260 use a BUT 18 for a sub HP and a LR 48 for the LP filter. My previous tunnings had a But 24 HP filter and LR 24 LP filter on the subs. Why the difference?

Hi Jon,

Sorry I'm so slow making you the new preset.

High-pass filters for subs are usually done with Butterworth, since the knee of the filter is only 3dB down, it makes for a flatter response within the intended passband.

Meanwhile, crossovers into adjacent passbands are often done with Linkwitz-Riley, because they will create a flat response when summed due to the fact that their knee is 6dB down and their phase responses are complimentary. However, the flat magnitude response is only realized in a few ideal situations, in most cases additional tuning is still needed.

I'll whip up your new preset this morning.
