The race to the bottom...

Re: The race to the bottom...

I like it! Who knew we could all trade our big and expensive touring grade subs for the "best sub ever made" - the Mackie 1500? I'll get so much storage space back! Either that or I'll make a killing buying everyone else's "inferior" equipment when they trade "up" to the Mackie.

Re: The race to the bottom...

When these people make statements like "this Mackie is the best powered sub ever made", do they actually picture their favorite Metallica concert using 100 of them under the stage? I don't see how they can make a statement like that without realizing how dumb it sounds.

Obviously, the Matterhorn is the best powered sub ever made (at least in output, certainly not in size or weight!)

Re: The race to the bottom...

Wow who are these new people? Back on the old forums (and it's safe to say here as well) those subs were NEVER liked by the community. Port farting much?

I've never heard of those new guys, but then again, no one has ever heard of me either, so who am I to judge.

I think anyone that says "Mackie makes the best [insert product here]" has a fundamentally flawed view of the Pro Sound World.

Re: The race to the bottom...

Yeah, I quit reading the Sub forum when the "twit syndrome" got excessive. The Classic LAB forum is populated with xover Loungers. It's more like Harmony Central every day. That's so sad because it used to be a forum for & by professionals. (insert nostalgic memories of the email list and CompUServe).

Re: The race to the bottom...

Why have I been hauling 4 SB1000's to bar shows when I can run these -15db and make peoples ears bleed?

I wonder though if I can replace a pile of SB150's and the associated amp rack with a pile of these... :mystical_william_shatner_look:
