I'm completing the transition to PowerCon for my interconnections while maintaining necessary compatibility to the ubiquitous Edison.

Smaller boxes allow for smaller storage allow for fewer cases allow for smaller transport costs allow for happier people.

So, without even a trace of humility I present the only product of its type in the world from one of the best in the business - Six2:

Cute and most useful box. However, If I saw it right, there are two blue powercon INs on the box.
This is a problem. Potentially, you can apply power to both of them, even from different 'legs' and ...

Is there any kind of 'electronics' inside disabling 'the other' powercon when the first one is energized ?

Very true Aleš! - that's what I get for not slowing down / getting enough sleep / etc. when I'm designing stuff - thank you.

Going to change one of the blue PowerCon's out for white on each box.

Apparently, bragging can save your butt. Not that I needed encouragement. :)

I might just put a Neutrik D Series 1/4" jack in that hole for entertainment. It would be hilarious to see a guitarist mistake it for a DI and fuss at FOH about it not working. No Bennett, I will NOT wire the jack to the power.

As a matter of fact, it is not a bad idea !! Just wire the shield (S) to the ground.

Now, the proud owner ow a wall wart powered mixer can actually use our gear, provided that he patch the 'hole' you provide and any unused TS or TRS on his mixer ... thus grounding the shitty crap.

I have a TS to edison (Schuko) adapter fot this exact purpose.

(Edit : clarification : In order to drive ADRaudio equipment without hum, the peace of gear that is driving it MUST be grounded .... there are exceptions, of course, right, Lang ?)

When it comes to electrical outlets, the more you have, the more you have. Like horsepower and money. Also that extended edge is a bit of an optical illusion - it's almost perfectly even with the surface of the Edison. :)

Langston and I both attended the SynAudCon in Piitsburgh last October and I believe that Pat Brown was using something from Middle Atlantic for a similar purpose. Both the Six2 and Whirlwind units look roadie worthy to me.

We did indeed create such a beast
a few years back and have been using it ever since. It is made up of Middle
Atlantic power strips home-runned to (6) rack-mount distros with voltage and
current monitoring on each. All in-line connections to the power strips are
twist-loks. No daisy-chaining.

The power strips are C-clamped to the
tables.

At the time there was nothing like the Whirlwind system in
existence. I would certainly consider it if I had to do it over.
