Started building the case a couple of weeks ago. Ordered the board yesterday along with a new MacBook Pro 15" 2.0 quad core, 2TB Time Capsule (5GHz Router & external hard drive) and iPad. Actually two iPads, my wife took the first one and said "go buy your own" :)

A lot of thought went in to the decision including other boards/brands. For what I do I felt I could get the best return on my investment from the PreSonus board. For the same money there was no way I could get all the benefits like iPad app & recording from another brand. Our sound co runs sound for my band 50% of the time and for friends bands the other 50%. We're just a small Mom & Pop co, literally my wife and I do it all. As soon as she saw the iPad app she was all about upgrading from the MixWiz. She was excited about no more running snakes & power to the FOH, just roll in one case and sit down with your friends and mix with the iPad. The guys in my band are excited to control their monitor mix from their own iPad.

I know there are people here who don't like the product, but it fits what I need and I'm super STOKED about it. Hopefully all will be in for a debut this weekend.

I went over budget about $700 when I chose to go completely Apple on the supporting devices.

In other news I ordered a 2011 Subaru WRX 5 door this week too :)

Nice, let us know how it corners. If you get a chance drive that thing on sand, most fun I've ever had in a big engined AWD vehicle. Through every corner sideways, closing in on the rev limiter, tossing sand everywhere!

We have a 2009 WRX Limited five door and a 2009 Legacy Spec B and have been very happy with both, although they relegated my 1995 RX-7 R2 to storage and being driven on weekends when the weather is nice.

I'm not sure that people don't like the StudioLive as much as it is that it may not fit some applications that well, but if it works for you then it's hard to argue with what you get for the money with it. I will say that I'm not sure how practical abandoning the running snakes and power to FOH and planning to mix solely from an iPad is, for example how do you handle talkback or headphone monitoring and how does the board faders not tracking changes work, and I'm interested to hear how your impressions after using it.

Congrats! Also wondering how it handles on corners as I've heard the new ones weigh quite a bit more. I've never been on sand in my '06 2.5i (so nothing fancy but still a blast to drive) but I have been in a few snowy parking lots and flying sideways is such a blast and the Subie makes it so easy to do.

The new WRXs are fun! Subaru really stepped up there game and squeezed some much needed ponies out of the new WRX 2 years ago. They had to step up after Mazda realeased the Speed3 which basically embarrased the WRX in the power and handling department while still being FWD and selling for $7,000 less. I havent driven the new WRX yet, but from what I hear, its got a way stiffer suspension and boatloads of power. I own an 08 Speed3 and I was considering a WRX when I was shopping, but it didnt come close to delivering the fun factor the speed 3 did. Regarding your Personus, the console is packed with every feature in the world and does most of it fairly well, but falls flat on its face in the EQ department. It helps having a mac hooked up with "Studio One" so you can visualize your EQ curves. The low end response IMO is strange, requiring some weird EQ to get well defined, rich bass. All in all, Im not a huge fan of it, but I will admit, for the price, and feature set you get, its worth it. Hope you enjoy both!!

Jeff, that has to be one of the cleanest rigs I've seen. Congrats! Did you design all that? Who made the case, and how much did it cost?

You might have gone a bit overboard on the Furmans; I think a power strip would have done the job.:lol:8)~~

Thanks, Silas. I designed and built the case. Cost around $700 with parts from Penn and local wood.
In case that's not enough Furmans for you, there's a APC UPS in the back too :)

She is a HEAVY BEAST. two QSC 4050, one 1850 and one PLX 3102 as well as a snake tucked in the back. She will not be going up any stairs.

Those were the two cars I was narrowed down to. Went WRX mainly for the AWD. I would have enjoyed either one though!!
