Peavey subcompact 15

I'm trying to find out for someone which way the speaker mounts in these boxes.
Its a 2 chamber band pass sub.

I've never seen one before so does the speaker magnet go in the bottom small chamber or larger top chamber?

The magnet goes in the small chamber on the bottom. It is the same on both the 15" and 18" subcompacts.

If memory serves correctly it is a 1501-8 but a quick call to Peavey would verify that. The original is probably the only driver that will work in these boxes. If more output is needed, it's time to upgrade to a subwoofer.

I'm not sure what they are putting in them. I still have a set of subcompact 18s with the 1801-8 bw drivers but the 15s compacts only came with a "heavy duty" 15. Guessing special made for the box.

It may add a little low end but as you say its more a low freq box than a true sub. 55hz ties it up.
