Opinions wanted: QSC MX3000

My aging Mac36's need replacing. There's a pair of QSC MX3000's for sale locally. Any personal info/experience with these would be appreciated.

Edit: The MacroTechs were over-sized for my application. Great sound, though.

Unless the 3600's are giving you trouble, I think you are going to find their performance hard to beat short of upgrading to the new high power amps, like Macrotech-i, Lab Gruppen, etc.

The MX's are probably going to be about the same age and have their own associated problems.

As long as the weight isn't killing you, send the 3600's into crown for a tune-up. It's not all that expensive.


Edit: Now that I see they are overkill for your application, you could easily get $800-$1000 / each on Ebay for the 3600's. If I had the 3600's already, I would hold onto them or upgrade, I just don't see the step down to MX3000's to be really worth it.

Problem solved:

A friend had one laying around and let me have it on "permanent loan". Free is good.
