Stupid deal of the day = DR Pro mic stands. 40 bucks each

Re: Stupid deal of the day = DR Pro mic stands. 40 bucks each

A very well done knock off. The only problems I've seen with these is that the tilt bracket is die-cast aluminum and IF it gets bent, you can't bend it back or it snaps. They are very strong and unlikely to bend however. Out of the twenty or so that I abuse on a regular basis, only one has snapped at the neck and 2-3 have lost the little wing-caps on the thumscrews. This is over a 3 year period and a large part of that time these stands rode loose in a large C-trunk.

Good looking out. I used to be in the habit of checking the deal of the day. Have a few of these stands already. They have really treated me well. Just picked up 5. Free shipping. Great deal.

Hmmm, I thought the deal had run its course. I tried, and was only given the option of one. Not worth the time for one.

Maybe it was only for established customers, and I established myself earlier. Now I can get them.
TKS for the heads up.

Totally decent stands if you're buying mid-level gear.
I would rate them even higher than that, of the 40+ DR stands we own (along with K&M and Atlas) we have only broken one, and that was due to an asshole, I mean musician being stupid. Each stand easily has 250+ shows on it, I'm sure some have seen over 1000 uses.

I bought 3 K&M's a month ago. I wished I'd bought the DR's. I don't have 40 of them but those I do own are workhorses. I've had one failure in 8 years.
