Apparently I just booked a show in Baltimore on September 23. I don't know the venue details yet, but I know a lot of forum members are in that area. Anyone know of any sights I should see? I'm considering coming down Thursday and staying over, so if anyone wants to hang out Thursday night (at a show, or not) that's cool.

I'm considering not bringing a tech with me and hiring someone from the area to help me out. Anyone available Friday afternoon and night? Load-in is around 3pm, it's a hotel gig, basic sound, accent lighting, projector.

PS - Evan, I'd like to pick up my woofer if you're close by.

There's a lot to do in Baltimore. Unfortunately, I'll be out on the road again by then, otherwise I'd offer to be your tour guide. :) But, I'd suggest spending a day down at the Harbor. Beautiful area with a lot to do.

And, if you're coming down 95, your woofer is 2 miles off the highway in Harford County. :)

Inner Harbor. Good restaraunts.You can take a boat ride to Ft McHenry.You can also toru a WWII submarine. Thought that was very interesting. There was a WWII sub service veteran who was a torpedo's mate. One thing he told us was very interesting.They used 2,000 PSI to get the torpedo out of the tube. But 2,000 PSI would only move the torpedo 18" were in the motor would start.

Inner Harbor... I remember the Baltimore Fish Market, or "drinking in Disneyland" as it's critics called it. It lasted about a year, IIRC, and failed mostly because the developer pulled a "Max Bialystock" and over-sold the investment pool... 5 themed nightclubs and 2 restaurants, Meyer PA and monitors in the 4 live rooms, Yammy FOH, KT outboard.

After the Fishfactory went down, the space because a children's museum, I think.

A bit of both, perhaps. Since there have been a couple of revivals of The Producers, it's not as arcane as it would have been 10 years ago.

Terri Gross, interviewing Mel Brooks on her NPR program "Fresh Air", asked him about 'Springtime for Hitler' and why, as a Jew, he would use such a plot device. Oh, come on, I think pretty much everyone who has any interest in musical theater has seen one incarnation of the Producers. The recent remake with Nathan Lane and co was pretty good, even.
