Has anyone had any experience side by side arraying the tops of the JBL PRX Series?

In a 'flat pack' they comb filter like a mofo, just like any other box. Splayed, you get to pick where that happens but it never goes away.

You can use all the standard tricks. Stack vertically horns together. Splay them horizontally but turn one cabinet down by at least 3dB so that the Comb filtering is lessened somewhat. Dual PA. Or just go Tejano with it, comb filtering be damned!

I just had a gig this weekend outside with this scenario. 4 PRX 515s with 2 PRX 718s
I splayed the 515s about 35 degrees while on tripods and was able to achieve the good wide horizontal coverage I needed since this was the open outdoors. The comb filtering was somewhat noticeable but very minimal between the grouped sets.
I was very happy with the results: A weighting - 95db; C Weighting - 100db @ 75ft (twinkling the limiters)
One thing you will DEFINITELY want to do if you are running the older PRX subs with 515s is to use an external crossover at around 80hz. The internal crossover point is too high at 120hz with 15" tops. If you are using the 512s you will be okay with that crossover point although I still think around 100hz would be better.
