I have a church client who is looking to replace some 10+ year old A-T RF units that are in the 700MHz range. Of course budget is a concern, etc. etc., so I started looking at RF in the sub-$500 range and saw this "digital" model from Shure. Part of me wants to stay away, but I wanted to see if anyone has used it and what their thoughts are. If it sounds like a regular PGX, all bets are off. But if the digital/900MHz helps the cause it may be a contender.

I know it's a tall order, but the church basically expects to get 10 years or more out of any gear they buy. Whatever they do buy will primarily be a lav system with the option to add a handheld and a headset down the road. The Sennheiser 100 series is mainly what they're looking at, followed by the Line6 XD-V70.

Re: Shure PGXD

At a festival recently they had a handhold AKG perception for a mc's mix. It sounded surprisely good for speech ( keeping in mind that both mc's were radio djs ) and even with the receiver 80 feet back at FOH no drop outs or coverage problems.

I have no idea how they play together in multiples.
