Re: New line6 XD-V75 mic

Other features include encryption. Apparently you can use the USB port on the V75 receiver to upgrade the firmware of older V70 systems to "enhance their feature set and compatibility with the V75 receiver".

Don Boomer - please tell us more!

Re: New line6 XD-V75 mic

That's a lot of latency.

I suppose that depends on the rest of your chain, too. For me, 4ms of latency with the V70 plus 2ms of 01v96 latency into an analog ear mix is the same latency as an all analog wedge on the floor. I heard a rumor that the existing V70 "upgrade" may also include the upgrade to reduced latency, too.

Yes ... the new XD-V75s officially come out tomorrow. The biggest change is to our transmission scheme. Wi-fi is rarely a problem to our system but unfortunately we tend to slow it down to a crawl. So the new system uses 2 channel transmission instead of 4 channel diversity. This allows us to strategically place them where they won't cause as much grief to wi-fi. There are also some scanning tools to help you find where the wi-fi is so that you can avoid it. Channel count goes up from 12 to 14 channels but you can still switch back to 12 channel mode that uses 4 frequency diversity. Other changes include additional mic models, modeling in the beltpacks, and an output level control (in software) that will aid users of third party mics and capsules. We've also added digital encryption for those seeking a low cost alternative. Do a quick google search to any of the major online sites for the whole laundry list of features and improvements.
