SC48 Announcement

Re: SC48 Announcement

Since we just got our SC48 a couple of months ago, this is pretty cool. I was hoping they would do more with the subgroups allowing for discrete assignment of mono & stereo groups in pairs. We shall see...

Re: SC48 Announcement

Looking at the fine print on this box. It will only take a maximum of 3 i/o cards. Soooooo......it will not accommodate 48x16 configuration. You can load it with 48 mic inputs but then would need to run an analog return snake, or, you can buy 2 remotes and load them up to the max with 48 mic inputs and 32 returns with an unused slot left over. I don't get it! Why wouldn't they make this system capable of duplicating the standard SC48 configuration of 48x16? I hope there is some really good reason why they feel a 32x16 remote system makes sense for a 48 channel console! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

The 32x16 configuration of the remote rack makes a bit more sense when you note this feature of the also "coming soon" Version 3 software:

"Create bigger mixes with expanded input processing channels in SC48 (increased from 48 to 64) and VENUE Mix Rack (increased from 64 to 80) Systems"

Re: SC48 Announcement

Well, at least you can add a second remote. It would have been really silly if they only allowed one box. But yes, they should have just added one more slot.

Re: SC48 Announcement

This is pretty slick and what I was hoping for as we have been holding off buying a 300ft snake for six months now.

I was under the impression that this would work with the MixRack system as well, but the literature doesn't seem to indicate that. Am I missing something? Bonus if we could mix n match our SC48 and Profile MixRack racks or double up on an expanded MixRack IO with Version 3 software.

Also - Anyone know if any Dante cards are in the works? I'd hate to have to run the Avid into our LS9 to convert :)
