Van Halen, or Van Pailin

Re: Van Halen, or Van Pailin

Well Clair rig, obviously lots of it, looked like only 2 bowties on the ground ?? varilite, martin 3000's, and martin mac 301's made up the bulk of the lighting rig - lots of truss. There were moving trusses, and for the finale they brought it in shaped like the vanhalen wing logo. I thought the lighting was under used, but some say that would be tasteful... For having over 100 fixtures hanging, only about 30 were used at any one time... Massive video wall, which was great to follow the action, even though I had pretty good seats ( players bench) thanks to the promoter. Kool and the gang opened, solid mix running about 92db on my iphone db meter (a weighted). The music for VH was good and I heard from reports that wolfgang wasn't up to the task, but I thought he was more than capable of being on that stage, and probably the best singer on deck. Dave was embarrasing to hear / watch , played with the timing of his lines, so he could catch his breath - eddie was solid as was alex.... I went to see the production mostly, so it's good I didn't pay to see this show.

Shane, I work the show in AC last night.I've been a fan since the first record. Now for the good stuff. Eddie and Alex were solid as usual. I really miss Michael Anthony cause he could hold down the pocket alot better. Clair rig fronts, side and rear hangs. Profiles out front, Midas H3000 on stage. Props to Brad Maddix foh for doing a good job a bad sounding hall. I have nothing to say about DLR and no brown M&M's were found in the building. 13 trucks 2 and half hour out. All was good and nobody got hurt.
Peace

They were here in Reading,Pa the other night. The local paper said you couldn't hear DLR's vocal much of the time which was a good thing, because when you did hear them,he was forgeting words and not hitting some of the notes. They said Eddie and Alex were great.

i remember a VH concert I went to back in the 80's. This was in CHARLOTTE North Carolina. But all night DLR keep saying ""how ya doing CHARLESTON" Somebody forgot to change the lablels on the monitors I guess. OR else he can't read or didn't care.

Funny thing was that the paper didn't say anything about it next day. I thought they would lance him for that. OH well-----------------------
