I am a new DJ with a poor college students budget. With no solid gigs lined up I am purchasing equipment on more of a hobby and fun budget. I picked up four Professional Audio Systems (PAS) cabs (two 48" tall and two 51" tall) the 48's have two 15 inch subs with horns and the 51s have a conical horn and two 12'' subs. The 48's have an RMS of 400W at 4ohms. I need at least one 2-channel amp with a rating of 800W/channel. Anybody have an idea as to how I can do this on a slim budget. (around 400 ish) i.e. where to look or methods to cut costs? The only reason I have such massive cabs is because they were free!

If you haven't noticed, the height of the speaker matters little. The WIDTH on the other hand, tells us everything!

lol, no actually can you pull the model numbers off these cabs, and MAYBE even snap a picture or two? Because I'm thinking that the bigger box with the 12's will be useless for you if it is what I think it is. You could sell those and put the money towards a proper amp....

This is the 51'' cab which I couldn't find a corresponding model number for however, I know they are PAS based on the badges on the speaker. The 48'' cabs are very similar to the PAS RS 2.1 Sound reinforcers. They don't have speakon inputs but 1/4 jacks. As for the offers on the amps I am definitely interested but I don't want to invest yet without hearing these things at all. I have a friend who is going to help me set them up on his amp to test their quality first.

I also like the idea of selling the two extras

I have some large amps (7" tall) I'll let you have for a bargain price!

What model amps are they? I am assembling a collection of old amps and might be interested in them.

I prefer if they are broken (since they will be for display only)-but do buy working amps if the price is right.
