So stupid!

I am having a quickly heated discussion with local promoters/provider about the inappropriate deployment of head high stage stacked line arrays. Any advice when the provider asks me head on why I am backing this opinion. I would include a pic but my phone won't do it. I'm sure you can visualize the setup. 3' high stage with 4 small line array boxes all facing straight out. 30 feet back you can't see or hear the top end of the system. Talent booker is a friend and is dismayed at how bad the sound is and wants to approach those in charge and try to get a solution. Politics are involved.

Re: So stupid!

Get out your fancy LED flashlight, hold it where the stacked rig is and have people walk around in front of it. Then ask them if the light gets blocked or if it can still be seen at the back of the room.

I bet it's all pinned at zero degrees, too.

Bennett Prescott's One Piece of Advice for Line Array Deployers: Never Use Zero Degrees. Never.

That one simple rule will solve the majority of funny HF lobing problems in throw and go deployments.

Right on Bennett. Flat as a pancake. I find it a great way to make 4 expensive small line array boxes sound like a crappy 90* trap box.
