recommendations for a hardy cat5 cable

Yesterday in the middle of a sound check in the middle of a multistage festival my cat5 cable gave out. Probably should have had an extra, but I didn't. Had to repatch everything with an analog snake I brought just in case.

The cable was under a rubber cable protector between the stage and FOH but it was probably all the stomping and dancing all over it that killed it.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a cat5 cable that could withstand that kind of punishment.

Re: recommendations for a hardy cat5 cable

I've been selling the Proplex Cat5e snakes, which are approved for use with the iLive and others up to 100 meters length. I also have clients using Rapco DuraCat for somewhat shorter runs, but still seems trouble free so far up to 200'. You would still want either to be well protected if it has to be routed straight through the audience.

It was actually in a gravel parking lot. No grass to dig up.

Wow, I didn't realize cat5 cables could get so expensive. I guess I should post a price range. I'd be looking for something under the $130 mark for anywhere around 100 -150ft

Shoot me a PM. CBI's product is excellent and will get you within that range.
