I did a festival last weekend and used OM7's on some acts, and PR35's on others. the PR35 was a lot better than the OM7. It picks up a bit of bleed but not terribly so, and the bleed actually sounds good, unlike many mics.

How does the bleed compare to the PR22? I think my PR22 sounds great, but it seems to pick up everything in the room.

PR35s have great side and rear rejection. I use one for singing drummers and am always surprised at how little kit is in the mic.

I just wish the clip wasn't so slippery. It is great for the vocalist who pulls the mic out to hold it but not so good when used over a high hat.

Do you really want to hear them (the singers) that well? We were using Shure SM87 condensers and realized how we were hearing the singers too accurately. We then switched to the old standard SM58 (we have plenty of both) and it worked much better for the acts we were working with. They sounded better when we didn’t hear them that clearly.

I have not used PR22 but have used PR20, which is nearly the same. The 35 has much less bleed.

Here's an update.
I recently purchased a PL80a and compared it to two Shure mics I have(SM58 - more than 25yrs old, Beta 58 a few yrs old).
I haven't listened through speakers yet but rather with a set of Sony MDR-V600 headphones coming out of a Soundcraft MFXi with the controls on both ch's set flat.
The PL80a is slightly brighter, the "sss" when singing and breathing on the mic are more pronounced, and the volume slightly lounder than either of the two Shure mics. The PL80 is not as isolated as the Shure mics and you can hear more "handling" noise but since I play and sing, as do the other musicians, and we don't usually don't handle the mic that shouldn't be an issue.

The Shure mics don't sound much different from each other when using the headphones but the Beta 58 was louder and a bit brighter when used on a gig so I'm curious how the PL80a will sound when run it through the PA tomorrow. The PL80a was a factory refub through MF who also gave me a $10 coupon to participate in a survey on a previous purchase so the mic cost me $39.99. I figured for that kind of money if I didn't like it I could keep it as a spare. So far the only down side seems to be the louder "sss" and breathing noise. This may be two fold. The PL80a is brighter than the Shures and the Shure windscreen foam seems more dense and thicker than the foam on the PL80a.

I'll let you know how the three mics compare when using them with a full PA.
