Calling Martin minimac / light jockey users

Martin minimac profile
Hey all - I had a problem yesterday with my minimac profile fixtures. I use Lightjockey, and I was using a show that I had previoulsy controlled the mini macs on before. I had movement control of the fixtures, and I could control the colour wheel, but I could not get the shutter to open. I had four fixtures, and they were all doing the same thing... I was using Lightjockey (dual universe) dongle, using about 75 ft of 110 ohm dmx cable to the first minimac - the others were less than 10 ft away from each, each connected with proper DMX cable. Usually I use a dmx distro not matter what, but I was doing two rooms, and the distro went to the "main show room" whereas I was doing decor lighting for a cocktail breakout room... Anways - any ideas on what might be the issue. I know I had good bulbs, becuase on manual control off the fixture, I had the bulb struck, and it would roll through it's test pattern just fine, all 4 bulbs were working. I don't think it was a control ( cable/dongle isse) because I could move them accurately, and control the other functions of the light, just not shutter(intensity)... I also tried BOTH minimac profileds that are available. But again - if I had no issues on the show I already had programmed before - the profile should have worked... thoughts ?

Re: Calling Martin minimac / light jockey users

Could be user error. Does your console have a grandmaster fader that could have the intensity at 0? Or a blackout button?
Hey rob, I wish it was that easy but no, I had 2 led pars on the same truss that were lit and operational, which also tells me that the console, dongle and dmx run was working... The only thing I could have messed up is the minimac profile, which I reloaded and addressed both fixture types( with and without intensity)... Also I thought that sometimes putting unlike fixtures in a chain can be an issue, so I removed the LEDs from the middle of the chain, and left them out of the loop,Re tested, nothing, then when I was frustrated and gave up on the minimacs, I inserted the led pars " behind" the minimacs and th led pars were responding just fine....mini1-----mini2-----mini3----mini4-----led par 1------ledpar2

Re: Calling Martin minimac / light jockey users

Did you strike the lamps? Maybe I'm mistaken but unless the minimacs are on autostrike you have to strike the lamps manually via DMX to get the lamps lit. Opening and closing the shutter wont do squat if the lamps aren't lit. (I may be mistaken, haven't played with minimacs in a long while)

You are correct.

I know my post was long but....from above....

" I had the bulb struck, and it would roll through it's test pattern just fine, all 4 bulbs were working"

Any new ideas?
