Anyone using the offerings from Line6 and AKG?
One of the main distributors here in Norway have discontinued the AKG DMS70 system from their line because there are too many challenges with running that system in the 2.4 GHz band, they are still carrying the DMS700 so that system is obviously more robust.
I'm getting to a point where I really need to invest in more wireless channels, and would love to have the noisefloor/headroom of a digital system, but can't really justify the outlay for the top offerings.
Should I give the VMS70 a go, and maybe tell the audience to turn off their roaming WiFi phones and iPads?

I've written extensively both here and on PSW about my Line6 experience. My 4 channels of Line6 XD-V70/75 have been good performers.

Yeah, I read through the road test and a couple of other threads, and there is definitely nothing to tell me to stay away from the Line6 offerings, allthough I really like the price point of the DMS70. Nobody seems to be using the DMS70 though, but at €250 pr. channel and four channels pr. rack unit, it sure looks tempting. Not much good if it doesn't work though.
The 75 and 55 series from Line 6 are both tempting and seems like a safer bet based on the established user base that actually confirm they work, but I guess I'll be needing to find out if and how I can use my AKG wired headsetmikes.

I use the DMS70QR for several month with three DHT 70 microphones. Since today I didn't had any troubles so far. And the sound is also ok so far.

In what kind of environment? Lots of WiFi going on in the immediate vicinity? Shows for medium crowds all with their phones on etc.?

Most of the time I use it in smaller venues, 150-400 people. The receiver is located beside the stage, where eventually also the mixer is. I also use a netgear WiFi for remote controlling the desk (a LS9 in the past, now a X32). On some locations there were also other WiFi networks available. Don't know whether they had problems or not.
As far as I know you can get problems when using two AKG units together with some WiFi networks. But this is not my use case. When I need more wireless microphones I use rental sennheiser G3 devices. The AKG system is for smaller events.

happy holidays.

Re: Digital Wireless in the 2.4 GHz band

Thank you, I guess a viable route for me is to get a couple of sets (quad recever and two transmitters in a set) and possibly expand with more transmitters untill I reach a practical limit (assumin four works OK)
