"The stage is like if you looked into a mobile home that has no front or sides."

Quote is from a request for bid for sound, no lights. The area to be covered is "two football fields side by side" and it should be "loud over the whole area". Lighting is being supplied by the stadium field lights.

I believe their budget is around $1200.

Anybody interested in providing can contact me for more specific information................

Re: Picture this....

I didn't know they pole mounted.......
We have a high school that has one mounted on a pole-and a single person can put it up and down.

Now granted it is a LARGE pole-and there is a winch on the top to help the person :)

I don't what some people say-a single cabinet CAN cover a whole stadium just fine. The largest so far with a single cabinet is 30,000.

The gig is relatively "in your neighborhood". If you'd like, I could put you in touch with them. You can take my percentage out of the $1200 they're offering for complete production.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the "mobile home" stage.......

Thanks-but it sounds like a gig to avoid. They would probably want somebody to actual do some work also-beyond providing "sound"-whatever they mean by that?

Maybe if I showed them the video of your holiday home light display they'd come up with a couple hundred more.......

Re: Picture this....

That being the analogy they came up with would by itself make me dubious. But with the weather coming through this region today there may soon be a number of such 'stages' available.

Yup. I would expect their other requirements might well be "those big boxes where the noise comes out".

Re: Picture this....

Its called a green room

We put a system in a large "performance" type church years ago. They would not listen to any advice we gave-so they put a green room behind the stage. So far so good.

EXCEPT there were NO restrooms. The artists had to walk to the rear of the sanctuary-and through the crowd-to use the restroom. Not cool.

It really makes you wonder sometimes. But THEY knew better than us------------------Oh well.

What were the directions to the restroom.......go thou down the hall and to the left and sin no more?

I'm not a big fan of rooms that don't have another path to backstage, period.
