A friend is performing at a first time Celtic festival in NE Iowa this June. He's helping to try and line up sound and lights(minimal).
It sounds like they have a budget that at least is not a slap in the face.
This is what I know at the moment:
40x160 tent
Two semi flatbed trailers for a stage. I know, I know...plus, I'm not sure which "wall" they intend to set the "stage". Seems that would really constrict the audience if against a long wall, but I'm not going to be surprised either way.
One band Friday evening, a few dancers/solo musicians during the day Saturday, a band in the evening, Sunday is "minimal".
They know they'll have to rent a generator, I've told my contact what to expect for something along the lines of a 45-65KVA quiet generator. If you want to bring your own, obviously that would be laid out in your bid to them.
Lighting is minimal, a few trees with Pars-just enough to light a band.
June 21-23.
I'd have to figure the tent would hold 600-800. Not sure if they intend to put seats only, seats and tables, bar/food service around the back walls, etc.
