Apple Lightning (8pin) cables

Re: Apple Lightning (8pin) cables

I've noticed a bit of bunching of the outer casing near the lightning connector on my cables. None have failed yet, but it looks crappy. Some of the 30 pin cables would do the same thing, especially the newer PVC free ones. I think it has a lot to do with the materials being used that are eco friendly. Cables made by third parties aren't necessarily as eco friendly, but nobody notices because they are made by no name companies.

I have about 12 iPhone 5's deployed at my work. Haven't had any complaints. I would recommend the Amazon.com replacement cable, seems a little more durable than the Apple one.

No problems with my Lightning cable either. I have 3 for my phone - one home, one in the car, one at the office. All good. No signs of wear. Got them all when the phone 1st started shipping.

Re: Apple Lightning (8pin) cables

My guess would be she's in the habit of yanking the connector out by the cable, thus causing the housing and cables to stretch. You couldn't do this with the old 30pin connectors, as they locked in, and you HAD to grip the connector to pull it.
