X32 V2 firmware

Re: X32 V2 firmware

I posted this earlier, in the X32 Discussion post, but here are my thoughts again...

1. Please oh please give us point to point patching, and not this groups of 8 patching.
A. Some of us need only 12 channels from AES50, and 20 from local, plus all 6 (or 8) from the AUX inputs.
B. And please allow for individual patching on the outs- not mirrors of the analog outs sent to the S16
2. Multiple channel fader grouping, not just two adjacent channels. Yes, we have DCA's, but I find both can be highly functional when you've used up all your DCA's...
3. The ability to sacrifice an effects processor (#4) to gain "full channel" capability on the AUX ins- thus making the X32 into a full 40 or more inputs (very helpful in conjunction with the S16's)
4. White text in the scribble strips over darker colors - like the Xcontrol software does.
5. The ability to assign our "money channel" to the MAIN fader, and consequently display the control of the STEREO out on the Matrix layer- fader 8, and move the Mono/Center to fader 7 on said matrix layer.

Re: X32 V2 firmware

Hey, first post. Been lurking for a while.

I would like to see 2 full dynamics units a la M7CL, LS9 instead of Gate/Ducker and Compressor/Expander.
I run into many situations where a gate just doesn't work right and need to run and expander and compressor simultaneously. A good compromise could be a Compander mode for the compressor.

Re: X32 V2 firmware

While I still haven't got my X32 firmware 2 to load after 3 brands of thumb drives (one of which they recomended) to load into my console. ARGGG! Anyway i would like to see REAL stereo reverbs! Which means when i choose sending something into the left side of reverb it doesn't come out the right side equally as the left. This is not true stereo to me as they claim. This would allow having 8 reverbs instead of four. Also while on the effects subject it would be nice to be able to choose and to see where the output of said effect is going. Just like on LS9 or other digital consoles. This would make setting up scenes so much quicker.

The reverbs are stereo, and you can split them to eight mono, some better than others because a true stereo reverb will not have independent channels, and depending on settings will have most of the later reflections from each output equally originating from the two inputs. In the default setting, right and left both originate from the same source, a single bus, but this can be changed if you need to (for a wide stereo mix etc.)

Are you formatting the USB drives first?

I'd think a reverb on only one side of the mix would sound most peculiar.
