15" powered subs n top combo

In that price range, Yamaha DZR series is reasonably well liked, but is a bit more "prosumer" feature set (IEC power, for example), and the DZR10 over the 15" sub is apparently a pretty potent small rig (although I haven't used one myself). You can get RCF NX and the bottom of the KX series in...

15" powered subs n top combo

There are quite a few good options on the market, and most of the entry-level wood boxes are decent these days. For smaller stuff, I've found that a 10" top over a 15" sub is a good combo, as a good 12" top typically has no issues outrunning a 15" sub. Some of the beefier 8" tops also hold up...

QSC TouchMix 16 sound problem fixed (other touchmix versions may also get this)

It's worth remembering that the tolerance range for electrolytic caps is typically pretty large (10% or 20% above and below the nominal is not uncommon), and all those measured values are within 10% of nominal. So I'd consider it likely that the circuits those caps are in are still performing...

Ever had a manufacturer refuse to sell you gear?

Similar boxes include * d+b E4 and E5 * L'Acoustics 5XT * Danley Cube (also the Nano, but that is too small to fit an NL4) * EAW MKC50 * Fulcrum RX5 Note, however, that like the Martin FP series, most of these options are system boxes that are intended for use with manufacturer-provided processing.

    Randomly Overheating Blackmagic Design Converters

Intermittent issues, especially where there's no obvious common factor, makes me question what the rest of the system looks like, and if there's a potential common factor that's not obvious. In this case, given the high case temperature involved, I'd be looking for something power-related...

    QSC TM30 recording issues

It is not uncommon for USB multitrack and USB computer connection to be mutually exclusive (this is also the case on the A+H SQ series, for example), although QSC isn't as explicit about that behaviour in their documentation as A+H is.

    B&C DCX464 vs DCX 354

B+C has some recommended DSP settings for the DCX464 used on their horn with their passive crossover as part of their 215-DCX reference design ( https://www.bcspeakers.com/media/W1siZiIsIjIwMjIvMDgvMTEvMDhfNTNfNTdfNDExXzIxNV9EQ1guemlwIl1d ). And it looks like the passive crossover uses a 3-pole...

Presumably, it's an https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ALCO_RS-2 That unit, of course, handles sequencing completely independently of the Surgex unit.

    Which set-up for a Monitor desk set-up?

More faders is more better if you've got the space, IMO, so I'd generally prefer option 2 here. Also, patching is generally happier if it's not split between IO devices.

Are Altman bases way more expensive

    I don't have pictures, and the shop that had them has since closed down and I suspect the steel was recycled. But, some ASCII art: Side view | | /| |\ / | | \ ---------------------- Top view ---------------- | | | | ----O---- | | / |...

Are Altman bases way more expensive

I suspect that when Altman moved their shop from Yonkers to Denver in 2020, their supply chain changed a bit. If you don't need to stack the bases, I've used some shop-fabricated units made from plate steel and 2" pipe (the 2" pipe is a socket for the 1-1/2" pipe, and a pair of bolts locks...

    Working with other peoples scenes

Heck, I've even been burned by my own scenes (workarounds for system issues that ended up stored in the scene, but were fixed properly later). At this point, I'll almost always start with a template scene of some type, but not a scene for a specific act. For the venue scenario where there are...

    Correct feeder cable for distro

If you have ferromagnetic material near the cable, you will get current flow into that material due the the changing magnetic field. That current circulates and can cause heating of the material. This is the "eddy current" phenomenon, and is how induction heating works. This is a cause for...
