Hi Everyone,
So far I haven't had any replies to this on PSW so I thought I try here to see if someone might be able to help. Below is a copy/paste of the PSW post, thanks:
Well after reading a recent thread about running studio manager wirelessly to the 01v96v2 I thought I'd give it yet another try. In the past I tried using a USB server to my wireless router as well as trying the DIR-615 which some said worked for them. Up until now I've not had any luck. In the latest thread here that was started recently someone mentioned using Splashtop and a local laptop. This works well for what I want to do but I come across another issue. When it's working it works great but if I shut down Studio Manager and/or the mixer I can't get the two to resync and communicate.
At this point Splashtop isn't even turned on or connected. I'm just trying to get the USB to communicate with the mixer. It recognizes that the mixer is there it just won't load the data from the board to the laptop. I read a couple of threads regarding this problem and tried a few of the solutions posted there to no avail. One person who was having the identical problem said that they could just switch MIDI channels each time they started SM and then it would "wake up" the port (as they termed it) and it would start syncing again. I tried this with no luck. It was suggested that maybe the version of SM or the MIDI driver wasn't correct and I checked Yamaha's site and I appear to have the latest for my machine.
Here is some info on my setup. My laptop is a Win 7/64 machine with quadcore I7 intel processors. The Yamaha versions I'm runnning are as follows:
Studio Manager: v.2.3.1
MIDI Driver: v.3.1.2/v2.3.2 for Win 7 & 8 64bit
Editor is 2.2.1 for Win64
01v96v2 firmware: 2.40 the latest available on Yamaha's site
I'm even powering up per the release notes: Computer 1st, connect to board, power board. I'm stumped.
If anyone see's anything I might be doing wrong or has a possible solution I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Mario
